Auto Contract Proposals Made: The United Auto Workers union considered the first comprehensive contract proposals from General Motors Corp. and Ford Motor Co., and waited for Chrysler Corp’s offer today. Their contents remain a mystery. GM said only that a proposal for a new three-year national contract had been given to the union. Ford and the UAW said there would be no statements, and UAW locals around the country said they knew nothing about the details of the proposals.
