THOUSAND OAKS : Man Convicted of 89 Molestation Charges
A Ventura County Superior Court jury has convicted a Thousand Oaks man of 89 child molestation charges after he repeatedly abused two young girls over a period of six years.
Charles Ceballos, 57, was found guilty after the girls, now 11 and 15, testified that he attacked them between 1984 and his arrest in January. Ceballos denied their accusations.
The molestations were revealed when one girl complained to her teacher, who called police and the Ventura County Public Social Services Agency, Deputy Dist. Atty. Michael K. Frawley said.
The jury found Ceballos guilty on Wednesday of 23 molestation charges involving the younger girl and 66 charges involving the older girl.
His conviction included 13 charges of committing a lewd and lascivious act with a child age 14 or 15, each of which carries a maximum penalty of eight years in prison. Each of the others carries a maximum penalty of three years in prison. Sentencing is scheduled Sept. 21.
