GM to Offer Incentives on Many 1991...

From Times Staff and Wire Service Reports

GM to Offer Incentives on Many 1991 Models: The No. 1 auto maker said it will give cash rebates of $500 to $1,000 to buyers of most of the new lines being built by its Chevrolet, Pontiac, Buick and Oldsmobile divisions--or financing at favorable rates. The incentives are to end Sept. 26, the day before General Motors’ 1990 model year officially ends, but dealers have already begun selling many 1991 models. Some analysts said the incentives are a tacit admission by the company that the new models are priced too high.
