A federal judge has been asked to let Stephen Larkin, younger brother of Cincinnati Red shortstop Barry Larkin, play for his high school athletic teams despite a heart condition.
The Larkin family has filed suit in U.S. District Court against Moeller High School and the Archdiocese of Cincinnati claiming that Stephen, 17, is being unfairly barred from athletics.
Judge Herman Weber has scheduled a hearing in the matter for Friday.
