Japanese Firms Are Dumping, ITC Rules: The International Trade Commission ruled that Japanese exports of advanced displays used in laptop computers and other products are hurting U.S. producers. The ITC’s unanimous vote allows the Commerce Department to proceed with its investigation of alleged dumping by 12 Japanese firms. A finding of such dumping could lead to stiff anti-dumping duties and higher import costs for several U.S. computer makers that buy the displays.
