Hyundai Boosts Prices on ’91 Models: Fountain Valley-based Hyundai Motor America said it has increased the manufacturer’s suggested retail price for its 1991 Excel and Sonata by an average of 2.3 percent. The price for the Excel three-door hatchback with four-speed manual transmission has been increased to $6,275 from $5,899. The price for the four-door Excel with four-speed manual transmission has been increased to $7,410 from $6,999. The price for the Sonata 2.4 liter five-speed manual transmission is $10,700, up from $9,999. The Sonata 3.0-liter V-6 four-speed automatic has been increased to $12,170 from $11,389.
