Boston Murder Toll Hits 100, Equaling 1989 Total

BOSTON —
The shooting death of a 20-year-old man has pushed Boston’s homicide toll to 100, equal to the number of killings in all of 1989, police said. Terry Mercer was shot three times Thursday after he parked his car outside a home in the Mattapan neighborhood. Police said there had been no arrests.
