Blast in Taiwan Leaves 13 Dead, Hundreds Homeless

TAIPEI, Taiwan —
A huge explosion and fire in northern Taiwan killed 13 people and made several hundred people homeless, police said Friday.
They said rescue efforts were severely hampered by the strong winds and heavy rains from Typhoon Abe.
Police said they suspected the explosion about 12 miles out of Taipei was in an illegal electronics factory.
