ENGAGEMENT : Booth-Murray

The betrothal of Stephanie Alice Booth to Palmer Neville Murray has been announced by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Otis Booth Jr. of Bel-Air.

The bride-elect is a great-great-granddaughter of Gen. Harrison Gray Otis, founder of Times Mirror Co., the parent company of the Los Angeles Times. Her father, a rancher and investor, served as group vice president of Times Mirror Co. and as chairman of Publisher’s Paper Co.

She graduated from Marlborough School and USC, where she was affiliated with Kappa Alpha Theta. She was presented at the 1986 Las Madrinas Debutante Ball.

The bridegroom-to-be, a graduate of the Hotchkiss School, Conn., and the University of Texas, attends USC’s Business School. He is the son of Robert Nelson Murray of Houston, director of First City Bancorporation of Texas, and Mrs. Wood Murray of Washington D.C., director of the Institute of Museum Services in Washington.
