Rising Gas Prices in Mideast Crisis

Share

Western media are referring to the 1973 oil embargo in comparison to the current Persian Gulf crisis, although the two situations are totally different. In 1973, it was the Arab states who enforced the embargo as a means of pressure on the political attitude of the U.S. and its allies.

Today, it is the U.S. and its allies that are stopping the flow of oil from Iraq and Kuwait by force. Therefore, it is the U.S. and its allies who should be held responsible for any consequent economical result in their countries.
