Ethel C. Eberle; Longtime Burbank Resident

Ethel C. Eberle, a 64-year Burbank resident and active member of a local church, has died in Burbank. She was 98.

Mrs. Eberle died Sunday of natural causes, said daughter Ruth C. Steel.

Born Ethel C. Kittel on Feb. 16, 1892, in Baltimore, she moved to California in 1926. She was a homemaker most of her life and enjoyed crocheting and making clothes for her family. She was also a longtime member of the First Lutheran Church in Burbank. Seven years ago, Mrs. Eberle moved to a Burbank retirement hotel and maintained an independent lifestyle despite blindness, her daughter said.

She is survived by her son, John Eberle of Lake View Terrace; daughter, Ruth C. Steel of Burbank; sisters, Amelia Schlinke of Salisbury, Md., and Emma Chaudron of Montgomery, Ala.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday with a funeral service to follow at Eckerman-Heisman Funeral Chapel, 333 E. Magnolia Blvd., Burbank, which is handling the arrangements. Burial will be private. Donations can be made in Mrs. Eberle’s name to the organ fund at the First Lutheran Church in Burbank.
