GREEK FESTIVAL : A Bazaar of Food and Music
Food, music and dancing will flow at the 12th annual Greek Festival Saturday and Sunday at the Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Cardiff. The festival starts at 10 a.m. both days.
From the games and pony rides to the bazaar featuring Greek imports of records, pottery and clothing, this family-oriented event offers something for all ages. There will also be an agora , or market, for fresh produce and Greek specialty food items such as olives, spices and cheeses.
Continuous international entertainment will feature Costa Cassapakis, Vincent Saucado and other artists who will perform at the Kaffenio (coffeehouse), where baklava, kourambiethes and traditional Greek coffee will be served. Two dance troupes will perform in full native dress and Greek dance instructions will be given to spectators.
Highlighting the festival is a Greek dinner featuring souvlaki, spanakopita, pastichio (Greek lasagna), stuffed grape leaves and more. Greek beers and wines will also be available.
On Sunday at 7 p.m., a 1990 Mercedes Benz 300 Sedan will be raffled. All proceeds will benefit the church building fund.
The church is located 1/2-mile east of I-5 at the Manchester off-ramp in Cardiff.

Cost: $2 for adults. Children under 12 are admitted free. Free parking available at the adjacent MiraCosta College parking areas.
