Asbestos Trust Deadline Extended: A federal judge has extended until Oct. 6 a freeze on trust payments to asbestos victims. U.S. District Judge Jack Weinstein had given Leon Silverman, an adviser to the cash-strapped Manville Personal Injury Settlement Trust, until Thursday to come up with ways for the fund to obtain fresh cash. Silverman said he needed more time.
