MOORPARK : Council, Merchants Seek Revitalization
Outdoor dining, entertainment and produce displays will be allowed in Moorpark in an effort to revitalize the downtown area, the City Council has decided.
The council voted 5 to 0 Wednesday night to issue temporary permits for businesses wishing to participate. The permits, which merchants can apply for at a cost of $28.80, will be good for six months, said Pat Richards, the city’s community development director.
Richards said once the trial period is over, the program will be re-evaluated by the council.
The older downtown area is centered at Moorpark Avenue and High Street.
