Share

Four assistant professors at Caltech have been named Presidential Young Investigators for 1990 by the National Science Foundation.

They are William Dunphy, biology; David Goodwin, mechanical engineering; Julia Kornfield, chemical engineering, and Jonas Zmuidzinas, physics.

The awards were established in 1984 to help universities attract outstanding young researchers who might otherwise pursue careers outside academia. The awards carry a research stipend of up to $100,000 annually for five years.
