Datametrics Posts $47,522 in Earnings

Datametrics Corp., a Chatsworth producer of printers and other equipment for the military, reported earnings of $47,522, despite a 21% decline in revenues to $6.5 million in the fiscal third quarter that ended July 29. A year earlier, the company lost $278,906 on $8.28 million in revenues.

For the nine months that ended in July, Datametrics reported net income of $367,845, compared with a year-earlier loss of $2.13 million. Revenues slipped 3% to $20.6 million from $21.3 million.

The company attributed the profit turnaround to reduced operating costs, better inventory controls and management of working capital, and to lower interest expenses due to the reduction of debt.
