OIL BAN: Among lobbyists in Washington for an offshore oil drilling ban (A3) was a group from Orange County. The group made the trip because, Laguna Beach Mayor Lida Lenny says, “We had a spill, so we know what we’re talking about.” In February, a tanker ran aground and dumped nearly 400,000 gallons of crude oil off Huntington Beach. . . . The Orange County group also included John Sibley of the Orange County Environmental Management Agency, Newport Beach City Councilwoman Ruthelyn Plummer and Orange County League of Cities President Patricia A. McGuigan.
