Alhambra : 5% Raise for Police Workers
The City Council agreed Monday to give members of the Police Employees’ Assn. a 5% raise retroactive to July 5.
City Manager Kevin Murphy said the city and association, which represents civilian police employees, will reopen contract negotiations in six months after a study to determine if association members have higher levels of responsibility than other, comparably paid city employees.
Murphy said the city is also close to signing a two-year agreement with the Police Officers Assn., which represents sworn officers.
On Aug. 20, the council agreed to give fire employees a 5% raise for six months and to give all other city employees two 5% raises during the course of a two-year contract.
