Share

The City Council unanimously approved the installation of about 600 parking meters on seven streets.

The additional meters, to be installed on streets including Washington, Sepulveda, Culver and Robertson boulevards, are expected to generate $80,000 annually.

The council also authorized $27,000 to pay for a community services officer for meter collection. The meters, which will be installed over a three-month period, are expected to produce $140,000 in parking violation fines.

Affected businesses will be notified of a public hearing that will be held before installation of the new meters.

The city will also remove poles that were installed two years ago without meters along Washington Boulevard between Zanja and Girard streets.
