COMING CLEAN

“Coming Clean,” by Marita Hernandez (July 29), was such an insightful piece. I was impressed but, at the same time, worried about the counselors at Impact. It sounds as though they are doing right by using their therapy to “break down egos, addict values and false pride.” But I just couldn’t believe their disciplinary measures (that is to say, “carrying large jars of mud for an entire day”).

Please, let’s treat those who are in recovery as human beings and give them hope, love and the encouragement to make their life clean and drug free.
