Jeter, Belzer Win Age Group Titles in World Triathlon
Two Orange County athletes won their age-group competitions Sunday at the second annual World Triathlon Championships in Orlando, Fla.
Joan Jeter of Costa Mesa took the 50-54 division for women in a time of 2 hours 27 minutes over the course that was made up of a one-mile swim, a 25.2-mile bicycle ride, and a 6.1-mile run. She won the 45-49 division last year when the competition was held in France.
Bob Belzer of Irvine won the men’s 30-34 division with a time of 2 hours and one minute over the same distances.
