Nike Inc.: The Beaverton, Ore., shoe company said first-quarter net profit totaled $99.7 million, up 31% from the same period last year. Revenue reached a record $833.6 million, an increase of 38%. The company credited strong growth in domestic athletic footwear and apparel sales, as well as an 89% increase in international sales.
