AUTHENTICITY: Mexican author and political commentator Carlos Fuentes, above, has chosen San Juan Capistrano for filming of “The Buried Mirror,” a five-part public TV series on the 500 years of Spanish influence in the Americas. . . . Fuentes picked Mission San Juan Capistrano because he wanted an “authentic” backdrop, “something that had the Spanish legacy in it,” said a program spokeswoman. The mission was founded by the Spanish in 1776.
