AUSTIN, Tex. — Police expanded their investigation today into fraternity hazing incidents at the University of Texas after a student said three assailants used a knife to carve Greek letters on his face.
Brent Baresh, 24, an inactive member of the Sigma Chi fraternity, told police he was attacked early Monday while jogging near the campus.
“I definitely thought I was going to die,” Baresh said.
He told investigators the attackers pinned him to the ground and that one of them cut the letters of the fraternity onto his cheeks. “I smelled alcohol on his breath and didn’t know what would happen next,” Baresh said.
