TOKYO — Stocks fell to a new closing low for 1990 in Tokyo today for the second day in succession, dragging down share prices elsewhere in the region.
The Tokyo stock market’s 225-share Nikkei index slipped 123.19 points, or 0.52% to 23,602.98 after falling 231.06 Wednesday.
It was the sixth consecutive day of declines for the Nikkei. Trade was easily swayed by rumors about the Middle East crisis.
