Israel Soldier Reported Slain After Gaza Crash
JERUSALEM —
An Israeli soldier driving through a Gaza Strip refugee camp was stoned and beaten to death Thursday after his car rammed a donkey cart and injured two teen-agers, Arab reporters said.
The slaying occurred in the Bureij camp in the middle of the Israeli-occupied coastal strip, said the reporters, speaking on condition of anonymity.
An army spokesman said “an incident has occurred in Bureij” and that the camp was placed under curfew. He said the army is investigating, but he would not provide details.
