‘Missing’ Woman to Join Her Husband in Texas
An Oregon woman who had been reported missing by her husband called him Saturday to report that she was safe, authorities said.
The couple was separated in Van Nuys as they drove in separate vehicles from Oregon to their new home in Brownsville, Tex. Marie Avant, 69, a retired college professor, had continued on toward Texas after losing her husband during a refueling stop.
