The Difficult Picture Show: Director Peter Bogdanovich said that making “Texasville,” the sequel to the 1971 hit film “The Last Picture Show” was more work than fun. “I wouldn’t have been able to make this picture 20 years ago,” said Bogdanovich, who attended the movie’s premiere gala in Dallas Saturday. “I wouldn’t have known how to direct it. You need a little experience to make a picture with this big a canvas. It was difficult, enriching, complicated, life-altering, a big experience, but not fun.” It was a somewhat saddening experience for Cybill Shepherd, who reprised her role as Jacy Farrow. Her character comes home to grieve the loss of her 6-year-old son. “Being the mother of three, it was very, very painful and very difficult,” she said of the role. The film opens nationwide Friday.
