Police Probing 3 Rapes at USC in Last 10 Days

Share

Police are investigating the rapes of three USC students in the last 10 days.

The three attacks occurred at the homes of the alleged victims near the Central Los Angeles campus and may have been committed by the same man, police said Thursday.

In the most recent assault, police said the attacker broke into an apartment on West 30th Street about 2:20 a.m. Wednesday and raped two student roommates. On Sept. 17, a man fitting the same general description opened a sliding glass door and entered a woman student’s apartment on Shrine Place, police said. He raped the woman and stole a small amount of money.

The man apparently was not armed during the attacks but threatened his victims with further injury.

Police declined to release a detailed description of the suspect, but Police Cmdr. William Booth said he expected an arrest to be made soon.
