Ralph Nader Says He May Sue Forbes: Ralph Nader said he would consider suing Forbes magazine if it doesn’t respond within a week to his request to retract a highly critical cover story on the consumer activist. The story says Nader represents the interests of trial lawyers who sue companies in product-liability cases and take other legal actions against them. In turn, these lawyers contribute financially to Nader’s organizations, Forbes claims. The article also claims that one of Nader’s groups, the Center for Study of Responsive Law, founded in 1968, has never made required tax filings with the Internal Revenue Service. “They didn’t do their homework,” Nader said, claiming the article contains “deep-rooted error.” Almost every derogatory statement “is wrapped around a false statement,” he added.
