Soviet Armed Forces Chief Welcomed in U.S.

WASHINGTON —
Gen. Mikhail S. Moiseyev, chief of the Soviet armed forces, was welcomed by Defense Secretary Dick Cheney at the Pentagon on Monday at the beginning of an official U.S. visit.
Moiseyev, who is also the first deputy minister of defense in the Soviet Union, is scheduled to meet with President Bush today. It is his first trip to the United States.
