Countywide : GOP Candidates to Attend Party Rally
- Share via
Republican candidates for county and state offices will speak at a rally in Oxnard on Sunday to raise money for the party’s Ventura County headquarters.
Organizers expect to attract about 300 people in hopes of raising at least $7,500 for its main party headquarters in Camarillo and this year’s campaign base in Oxnard, spokeswoman Jean Dewey said. Tickets cost $25 for the Western-style meal at the McGrath Ranch, 5011 W. Gonzales Road.
The annual rally, sponsored by the Ventura County Republican Party Central Committee, does not aim to promote individual candidates, although several will speak at the event between 1 and 5 p.m., Dewey said.
Representatives Elton Gallegly (R-Simi Valley) and Robert J. Lagomarsino (R-Ventura), Assemblywoman Cathie Wright (R-Simi Valley) and Assemblyman Tom McClintock (R-Thousand Oaks) will be among those reporting on recent legislation.
