Poland Clears Last Political Prisoner

WARSAW —
A journalist believed to have been Poland’s last political prisoner was cleared of spying charges by the Supreme Court on Friday, the official PAP news agency reported.
Jozef Szaniawski, who is also a historian, had been held in jail until the end of 1989, when the Solidarity government took over.
