Morale of Marines in Persian Gulf

In response to the Times editorial (Sept. 28) regarding Gen. Alfred Gray:

Gen. Gray was only verbalizing what every Marine knows: “Nobody promised you a rose garden!”

Thank goodness for the Gen. Grays of this world. As a former Marine, I am so gut sick of hearing sniveling from American men at arms.

Oh, where are the Pattons and Chesty Pullers of yesteryear? Gray is right. The whole country needs to suck in its gut. Perhaps we’ll find a few more Grays, Pullers and Pattons.
