Dueling Leonardos: An Italian artist has claimed in his will that he painted a painting previously attributed to Leonardo da Vinci. The claim was made by Cesare Tubino, who died in Turin, Italy, last week at age 91, the Turin daily Stampa Sera reported Monday. The “Madonna With Cat” first surfaced in the 1930s and was shown at a prestigious Milan exhibition in 1939 after several experts attributed it to the 15th-Century master. But it disappeared soon after and was believed to have been stolen or lost. It was found in Tubino’s apartment after his death.
