Radio Show Offers Unsigned Artists a Break: Unsung, unsigned independent musicians from around the world will get their first national exposure this week on a new syndicated radio show aimed at college students. The syndicated program, produced by Independent Music Network in Carbondale, Ill., features individual artists and groups playing rock, blues, country, gospel, Christian, jazz and other music in a half-hour show. The artists must have produced the music themselves and not be signed to recording labels. Listeners interested in buying the music can call a toll-free number to order cassettes or compact discs. The free show is distributed to radio stations by University Network, a nonprofit, satellite network.
