Elite British undercover troops shot dead two members of the outlawed Irish Republican Army in Northern Ireland, the Royal Ulster Constabulary said Tuesday.

Three others were arrested, and three weapons were recovered in the incident near the village of Loughgall, 45 miles west of Belfast. Sources said members of the Special Air Service squadron were involved.
