The NHL said Milwaukee has withdrawn its bid for an expansion team. The effort to lure a franchise was headed by Lloyd and Jane Pettit, co-owners of the Milwaukee Admirals, a minor league team. The Pettits donated $71 million to construct the Bradley Center, which opened two years ago.
