CAMARILLO : City Seeks to Buy Lots for Rental Units
- Share via
The Camarillo City Council will make an offer to buy two adjacent lots on the northwest corner of Daily Drive and Raemere Street where up to six affordable rental units would be built.
The city’s attempt to buy the two properties for a total of $350,000 is contingent on funding from the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development under the Community Development Block Grant Program. If the city is successful in acquiring the property, the county Housing Authority will be responsible for development.
The units will be made available to very low-income families earning 50% or less of the median county income--$22,600 for a family of four. Rents will not exceed 30% of the family’s income.
