Although he’s surely had plenty of offers, Julio Iglesias admits he has no desire to become an actor, saying the two films he made early in his career were “the worst ever made!” Iglesias jokingly recalled his past experiences in front of the movie cameras during a press conference held by Iberia, the national airline of his native Spain and sponsor of his recent U.S. concert tour. Next on his agenda is the release of two new CBS albums--one in English is due to come out this month, and one in Spanish to be released later.

After several years of self-imposed retirement and many rumored comebacks, Spain’s Camilo Sesto will definitely return to the stage. The popular singer/songwriter is set for a tour of Mexico before year’s end, much to the delight of his fans.

Actor Esai Morales (“La Bamba” and “Bad Boys”) has signed an exclusive deal with Spelling Entertainment to develop and star in an hourlong TV drama series, as yet untitled. Morales recently finished a new movie, “Naked Tango.”

Los Angeles’ first Rock in Spanish music festival will take place Oct. 28 at the Los Angeles Sports Arena. The eight-hour spectacular promises an impressive lineup of artists, including Spain’s Hombres G; Argentina’s Laureano Brizuela and Los Fabulosos Cadillacs; Mexico’s Los Caifanes, El Tri, Kenny y Sus Electricos and Alejandra Guzman, plus L.A.’s own Felix and the Katz and L.A. Mixers.

Actress Catherine Bach (“Dukes of Hazzard”) has wed her long-time boyfriend, local entertainment attorney Peter Lopez.

The youth program, “Tu Musica,” is now hosted by Lilly Melgar, who began performing at the age of 3. Since then, the 21-year-old actress has done numerous commercials, as well as movie and television stints, including “Midnight Warrior,” “TV 101,” and the soap opera “General Hospital.” Univision’s “Tu Musica,” which debuted in July, 1988, and airs Saturday afternoons on Channel 34, features music news, interviews and videos by U.S. and Latin American artists.
