TUSTIN : 2 Schools Celebrate National Awards
Balloons, flags and songs were in abundance Friday at Helen Estock and Arroyo elementary schools as the Tustin Unified School District celebrated the national awards given to the two schools.
They were among 221 schools nationwide--16 in California and three in Orange County--to receive the awards from the U.S. Department of Education. Tustin is the only district in the state with two schools to win awards, which are based on several factors, including programs, the attitude of staff members, interaction of the school with the community and parental involvement.
The celebration started at Estock in the morning, continued with a VIP luncheon and concluded with a ceremony at Arroyo.
