Taiwan Expects to Join Top 10 Traders: The country expects to be among the 10 largest trading nations by 1996, when its foreign trade should hit nearly $200 billion, the Board of Foreign Trade said. Last year, Taiwan, with about 20 million people, ranked 13th in trade, with $66.2 billion in exports and $52.3 billion in imports. Between 1991 and 1996, its exports are expected to grow an average of 7.69% a year, with imports averaging 9.03% growth, said Lee Chang-lu, board deputy director.
