The Camel Lotus auto racing team announced today that Britain’s Johnny Herbert will replace injured Martin Donnelly for the final two Formula One Grand Prix races of the season.

With Donnelly still in the hospital after a crash during qualifying for the Spanish Grand Prix two weeks ago, Lotus decided to put its reserve and test driver in his place.

Herbert finished fourth in his Formula One debut when driving for Benetton in Brazil last year. He will ride for Lotus at the Japanese Grand Prix on Sunday and the Australian on Nov. 4.
