Rodriguez on Police Brutality

Rodriguez was right on the mark when he likened racist police brutality to torture, as indeed it is. It is time that lily-white, spoon-fed, arrogant and ignorant Americans bury the euphemisms that keep us all so comfortable. We must see that a systematic violation of civil rights is a deeper violation of human rights, and we should refer to it as such.

Maybe then we can see that torture is indeed possible in our own back yard. Will we have the courage and the humanity to end it?
