From Staff and Wire Reports

The Gulls snapped their five-game losing streak and handed previously undefeated Fort Wayne a International Hockey League 6-4 loss Saturday night in front of 4,509.

Left wing Clark Donatelli’s third-period goal with 4:11 remaining snapped a 4-4 tie. Defenseman Steve Dykstra added an empty-net goal with one second remaining. A five-minute major penalty assessed on Marc Saumier put the Gulls on the power-play and led to Donatelli’s goal.

“Tonight, we found out the difference between thinking we’re working hard and really working hard,” Gulls Coach Mike O’Connell said.
