Detective’s Death and Gun Control

Once again our criminal system fails and The Times calls for stricter gun-control laws. Just what new restrictions do you ask for now?

We have the assault weapon ban and a waiting period to check a purchaser’s background, so what is next, a total ban on firearms?

This person was an illegal immigrant with a long criminal record. It just shows criminals will not be stopped by any gun-control laws, including a complete ban on firearms. We cannot control the flow of illegals and drugs across our borders. A weapons ban would only give criminals another product to smuggle in for profit.

In the meantime, without the fear of homeowners being armed, we would be at the mercy of criminals to do as they please.
