Tribune Co.: Net income in the third quarter for the publisher of the Chicago Tribune, the New York Daily News and other newspapers was $38.2 million, down 39% from the same period of 1989, on revenue of $588 million, about the same as last year. The Chicago-based company said operating losses in its newsprint division and at the Daily News were primarily responsible.
