Nobel Peace Prize Awarded to Gorbachev
Gorbachev deserves the Nobel Peace Prize, but so does former President Ronald Reagan. It was the U.S. military buildup and the strength shown by Reagan that forced Gorbachev to make the concessions that he did. In my opinion, both presidents should have been awarded the peace prize. I am deeply disappointed that The Times and other publications, in their high praise of Gorbachev, have not noted the real reasons behind his actions.
