WORLD : British to Reopen Iran Embassy

LONDON — Britain said today it will reopen its embassy in Tehran on Sunday, with the restoration of diplomatic ties with Iran.
The Foreign Office said that a team of five diplomats, headed by First Secretary David Reddaway, would leave London on Saturday.
Reddaway was at the embassy when Iran broke off relations with Britain 18 months ago, after Tehran issued a “death sentence” against British author Salman Rushdie, whose novel, “The Satanic Verses,” Iran said blasphemed Islam.
Britain and Iran announced they would resume diplomatic relations after talks in New York last month.
