Tandem Computers Inc.: The Cupertino, Calif.-based computer maker said its annual earnings edged up 3% to $121.8 million on revenue that increased 14% to $1.87 billion. Fourth-quarter profit fell 19% to $31.8 million, even though sales jumped 11% to a record $506 million. The company said it is making an effort to expand its customer base to industries beyond its traditional strong points of banking and securities.
